Appeals and Complain

 

1. Introduction

International Journal of Transformative Elementary Education (IJTEE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of editorial integrity, fairness, and transparency. This policy outlines the procedures for authors, reviewers, or other stakeholders who wish to raise concerns regarding editorial decisions, peer review processes, or ethical conduct.

All appeals and complaints are handled promptly, objectively, and in confidence, following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

2. Grounds for Appeal

Authors may appeal if they believe:

  • The editorial decision was based on a misinterpretation of the manuscript’s content.
  • Reviewers' comments contain factual errors or unjustified criticism.
  • The review process violated journal procedures or fairness standards.

Appeals must be submitted in writing within 30 calendar days of the editorial decision.

3.Appeal Procedure

To submit an appeal, authors must:

  • Send a formal appeal letter to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Clearly state the reasons for the appeal and identify the perceived errors.
  • Include relevant documents, such as a detailed response to reviewers’ comments.

The editorial team will:

  • Acknowledge receipt within 7 business days.
  • Conduct an internal review, possibly involving additional editors or reviewers.
  • Provide a decision within 30 days of receiving the appeal.

The decision after the appeal review is final and binding.

4. Complaints

Complaints may relate to:

  • Editorial misconduct or conflicts of interest.
  • Unethical behavior by authors, reviewers, or editors.
  • Editorial process delays or communication issues.
  • Breaches of confidentiality or fairness in peer review.

Complaints must include:

  • The complainant’s full name and contact details.
  • A detailed description of the issue, including names, dates, and evidence.

Complaints should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor via email.

5. Complaint Resolution

Upon receiving a complaint, the editorial office will:

  • Acknowledge receipt within 7 business days.
  • Investigate the matter confidentially and impartially.
  • Provide a resolution or explanation within 30 days.

If misconduct is suspected, the journal may initiate a formal investigation and involve relevant institutions or ethics bodies.

6. Confidentiality and Protection

All appeals and complaints are handled with confidentiality. The identity of complainants is protected, and no party will face retaliation for raising concerns in good faith.
